Pointlessly Recalled Memories Instalment #2 The Sunken Garden.
Continuing my pointlessly recalled early memories instalments. Behind our house on L street there was also a sunken Garden that my Grandad created with a pond and gold fish in the middle.(basically a plastic childs pool dug into the ground.) One year we forgot to clean out the fish at the end of the season and the fish froze in the pond. The cool thing was that next year when it thawed the fish revivied and lived. The garden was made up of a number of wood tiles made from cutting an old tree into sections. Then there was a raised bank around the garden that had periwinkle and sweet williams growing on it. Eventually the periwinkle took over and the entire thing looked like a pit covered in deep green leaves.
